Parking in Harvey Cedars

Harvey Cedars has no large oceanfront parking garage or central beach lot. Visitors generally use free public curb spaces near beach entrances while carefully avoiding private driveways, business lots and restricted street ends.

Where to Park for the Beach

Navigate to the selected beach street and look for a legal public curb space. Streets are narrow, and the areas closest to the entrances fill quickly. Parking several blocks away is preferable to blocking a driveway or creating an unofficial space near the dunes.

Parking Near Businesses

Businesses along Long Beach Boulevard and neighboring streets may provide private customer parking. These spaces are not public beach parking and should be used only while visiting the associated business.

Street Ends and No-Parking Areas

• Keep beach entrances and emergency-access routes clear.
• Do not block driveways, intersections, hydrants or pedestrian paths.
• Do not stop or unload in a Long Beach Boulevard travel lane.
• Observe temporary signs for roadwork, flooding, public works and events.

Accessible Parking and Beach Access

Use marked accessible spaces with a valid placard or plate. Visitors who need help crossing a beach entrance should contact the borough in advance about its Beach Access Program and Beach Wheels. Keep access mats, ramps and loading areas unobstructed.

Overnight and Oversized Vehicles

Arrange approved private parking before bringing an RV, camper, trailer, boat or commercial vehicle. These vehicles may not fit safely within public curb spaces and can be subject to additional restrictions. Do not store an oversized vehicle at a public street end.

Best Arrival Strategy

Choose the beach street before entering Harvey Cedars and turn off Long Beach Boulevard only when ready. On summer weekends, search progressively farther from the beach rather than repeatedly circling the same narrow block.

Alternative Transportation

The seasonal LBI Shuttle connects Harvey Cedars with other island communities. Once a legal parking space is secured near lodging, the shuttle can eliminate another parking search for dinner or evening activities.
