Parking in Lavallette

Most Lavallette visitors park free on public streets near the beach. The important exceptions are residential permit spaces, short-term parking along Route 35 and municipal bayfront lots that require a seasonal parking sticker.

Where to Park for the Beach

Look for a legal curb space on the ocean blocks or neighboring side streets. Parking is generally easier a few blocks from the most popular entrances. Check both ends of the block for permit restrictions, time limits and temporary no-parking notices.

Do not park in the marked no-parking areas at oceanfront street ends. These areas are reserved for emergency access, even when they appear large enough for a vehicle.

Bayfront Municipal Parking Lots

Vehicles parked in Lavallette’s municipal bayfront lots need a parking sticker during the bathing season. The 2026 sticker costs $15 and is sold at the Beach Badge Office at 2001 Baltimore Avenue. It must be permanently attached to the driver-side rear window.

The sticker permits use of the lots but does not reserve a space. Beach badges and bayfront parking stickers are separate purchases.

Accessible Parking

Marked accessible spaces are available throughout town and at several oceanfront streets. The largest concentrations near the beach are on Trenton, New York, Philadelphia and President avenues. A valid disability placard or plate is required.

Important Restrictions

• Do not block driveways, hydrants, curb ramps or beach-access lanes.
• Do not use a short-term Route 35 space for an all-day beach visit.
• Confirm current rules before leaving an RV, trailer, boat or commercial vehicle on a public street or in a municipal lot.
• Temporary event, roadwork and emergency signs override normal parking rules.

Best Arrival Strategy

On summer weekends, choose a beach entrance before reaching town and search the surrounding blocks once. If the closest block is full, move two or three blocks away instead of repeatedly circling Route 35.
