Where to Park in Strathmere
Commonwealth Avenue and beach streets
Commonwealth Avenue is the community's main north-south route. Restrictions include the west shoulder from the Sea Isle City line to Putnam Road, and additional scheduled limits apply on connecting streets. Bayview Drive has no-parking areas between Whittier Road and Willard Road. Near small commercial and service destinations, short-term spaces are meant for turnover rather than a beach day.
Upper Township schedules 15-minute parking on parts of the east side of Commonwealth Avenue near Vincent Road and Putnam Road from May 1 through September 30. Spaces at the Strathmere Post Office, 9 Commonwealth Avenue, are also limited to 15 minutes during post-office hours. Read the sign attached to the space before walking away.
Corson's Inlet State Park
At the south end, Corson's Inlet State Park provides access to undeveloped shoreline, trails, fishing and boating waters. The park is open from sunrise to sunset and has no entrance fee. Parking and access are for park use, not an overnight storage area. Mobile sport-fishing vehicle access on the beach is prohibited from May 15 through September 15, even when the vehicle has the required state permit. Review the state park's current rules before transporting fishing equipment or a beach vehicle.
