Where Paid Parking Applies
Commercial Areas
Year-round four-hour ParkMobile zones are located along portions of Ventnor Avenue, Atlantic Avenue and nearby commercial cross streets. These spaces are intended for shopping, dining and other shorter visits.
Seasonal Beach Areas
Nine-hour seasonal spaces are located on designated beach blocks, including parts of New Haven, Newport, Somerset, Suffolk, Surrey and Weymouth avenues. Seasonal operation runs from the Friday before Memorial Day through September 30.
Newport Avenue Municipal Lot
The municipal lot on the south side of Newport Avenue contains 37 metered spaces and operates year-round, 24 hours a day. Check ParkMobile for the current rate and permitted duration.
How to Pay
- Open ParkMobile, scan the posted code or use the telephone instructions on the sign.
- Enter the displayed zone and space number.
- Select the correct vehicle and license plate.
- Choose a legal duration and confirm that the session started.
Major credit cards and Apple Pay are accepted. Extending a session remotely does not override the space’s maximum time.
Free Parking
Legal spaces outside paid and residential-permit zones may be free. Off-season payment suspensions have occurred, but visitors should check the live sign and payment screen instead of assuming all meters are inactive.
Residential Parking Permits
The residential zone extends from Jackson to Victoria avenues and from the north side of Winchester Avenue to the Boardwalk. Eligible residents may purchase one permit per registered vehicle. Each property may receive two visitor passes. Each permit or pass costs $20 and is valid for two years.
Accessible Parking
Accessible parking is available near Suffolk and Somerset avenues and at Newport and New Haven avenues. Beach mats are located at Suffolk and Newport, and surf chairs can be reserved through Beach Patrol.
